Summer & Winter Book Clubs

Little Roots — for children ages 3–4 Sprouts — for children ages 5–6

Our Summer and Winter Book Clubs are gentle, seasonal 8-week programs (Wednesdays) designed to nurture a deep love of stories, language, and thoughtful discussion through a Montessori-informed approach. Open to all children in the community — you do not need to be enrolled at Kindred Spirits Montessori School to join.

Offered during July–August and January–February, Book Club takes place after school hours and includes parent participation, helping to strengthen the connection between home and our growing book club community.

Each group enjoys a carefully chosen book selected specifically for their age — rich in language, meaningful themes, and age-appropriate storytelling. Little Roots explore beautiful picture books that invite wonder, imagination, and gentle discussion, while Sprouts venture into longer stories and short chapter books that unfold beautifully over the eight weeks.

The small-group setting fosters respectful listening, empathy, and collaboration, while supporting language development and a lifelong love of reading — all grounded in Montessori principles of observation, autonomy, and intrinsic motivation.

Book Club is a wonderful way for children in our community to engage with stories, explore ideas, and share meaningful experiences with their peers — all while being supported by parents and guides who encourage curiosity, reflection, and joy in learning.
